Learn to code with Code Club

Is your school considering running a coding club this year? Do you need help determining where to begin or are you hesitating about the initial steps?

If so, help is at hand! Learn to code with Code Club is a free 5-week online programme run by Code Club. The programme helps educators develop the confidence to run a fun and educational coding club using Code Club’s free resources, and provides learners with the opportunity to use code to bring their ideas to life.

At Code Club, we believe all young people should have the opportunity to learn to code, no matter who they are or where they come from. We believe in learning through making, and our coding projects offer young people aged 8+ opportunities to be creative and to share their creations with each other.

At the centre of the programme are four online codealongs, where our team will guide your learners through the building blocks of coding. These sessions will run every Tuesday from 4 to 25 November at either 11am or 1pm.

As an educator, you will also attend two separate online sessions: one at the start of the programme (on either 21 or 28 October), and one at the end (on 25 November). The first session is designed to build your confidence and equip you with the knowledge you need to run a successful coding club, so that you can guide your learners through coding activities after the programme ends. The second session is an opportunity for you to discuss your experience with other programme participants and plan your next steps.

The programme is completely free — all materials, teacher training, online videos, mentoring, and support will be provided.
