8-bit Code Club runs in-person events at the Gaylord Public Library on Saturdays starting at 2:00 PM.
Young people engage in hands-on activities to explore, discover, and invent. Attendees do not need to bring anything except curiosity and respect for fellow coders! All computing and electronic materials will be provided for use during the event.
8-bit Code Club is recommended for young people ages 9 and up.
When attending events, please enter through the side door closest to Main Avenue.

Scratch Level 1 - Badge 3 - Find the Bug
Details
We are continuing a 6 project Introduction to Scratch path with the third project “Find the Bug”. You will be creating a game in which you have to find a hidden bug on each level!
Earn your third badge toward completing your Introduction to Scratch certificate, and keep learning how to make your ideas into reality!
- Recommended for ages 9 and up
- Adults must book the tickets

Learn Java and unlock the power of Minecraft: Java Edition by making Java-based mods! If you have online access to your own Minecraft: Java Edition game, you can use it - if not, no problem! There will be copies you can use during the session. Some experience with text-based programming is recommended, but not necessary. This course is recommended for young people with an interest in learning Java, and making fun things with it!

Details
We are continuing a 6 project More Scratch path with the second project “Grow a Dragonfly”. You will be making a dragonfly that grows bigger as it eats annoying mosquitos and other insects.
