Harrow Code Club - Scratch 101 & Python 101
Details
🧠 Python 101
We will be introducing Python using Hedy (https://www.hedy.org), which teaches Python in a structured, gradual, and very readable way. Hedy allows children to start with simple, English-like instructions and slowly move toward real Python syntax.
Hedy includes two modes:
• Learning mode – children follow guided activities step by step
• Teaching/coaching mode – useful if parents would like to see what we’re covering
You are very welcome to explore it with your child at home as well.
🎨 Scratch 101 (Younger learners)
For our younger students, we will start with Scratch 101 using the fun “Space Talk” project from Raspberry Pi:
https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/projects/space-talk
They will create animated characters that talk in space, helping them learn basic coding ideas like sequences and events in a playful way.
