‘Beat the Goalie’ Euro 2016 project & competition!
What better way to celebrate the beautiful game than with coding! So, to mark the UEFA European Championship, Code Club have created a new Scratch project – ‘Beat the Goalie’.
In the project children will learn how to code a football to move backwards and forwards across the bottom of the screen. The ball will then be coded to move towards the goal when the spacebar is pressed. Children will then add code to decide whether the goal has been scored or saved. Finally, children will code the goalkeeper to move when the arrow keys are pressed, making a 2 player game.
We’d also like to invite you all to take part in our ‘Beat the Goalie’ competition for your chance to win a selection of Code Club goodies, including stickers, badges and more! Customise your game’s code and look to make something totally unique.
You can then submit your finished games to our Scratch Studio, or by emailing us a link to hello@codeclub.org.uk with the title “Beat the Goalie Competition”. All entries must be submitted by 6th July.
The winner will be announced on 12th July. Winners will be notified either via email or through their Scratch accounts, so please bear this in mind when submitting your entries.
